This year's lecture will address the urgent question: Can Europe strengthen the sustainability of its agriculture while remaining globally competitive? Through a multidisciplinary lens, Wageningen University & Research compares Europe’s agrifood system’s competitiveness with that of the United States and China. The lecture will explore how innovations - technological and social - can help reconcile ecological sustainability with productivity and food security.
