Many trees in Twente forests are struggling, such as old oaks and beeches on the Enschede soil, but birches and conifers are also declining. Can our forests cope with climate change or should we give them a hand? And if forests are actively rejuvenated? What is the wisest option: native trees first? Or should we plant more species from other climate zones? This Science Café addresses the question of what the future of trees and forests might look like. Seppe De Mits MSc.
